3D Studio

Author 3D models with primitives, scans, AI generation and states.

What it is

3D Studio authors model_3d assets. Today that includes primitive construction, transforms, materials, component instances, AI generation, refinement, photogrammetry scan intake and named states for stateful models.

Where to find it

Open the App Drawer and look under Studios. The resting drawer shows only the studios you have pinned, so if you do not see 3D Studio there, type its name into the drawer search — every available studio is reachable that way.

How to use it

Open or create a 3D model, then build with primitives, sketches and transforms. AI generation and scan jobs start asynchronous work; progress shows in the Activity Log rather than returning a finished heavy file inside the command response. Named states let a model hold variants such as open or closed.

Use cases

Blocking out a simple object with boxes and cylinders. Turning a photo prompt into a draft model. Registering animation states so a bound model block can show the object in a named state.

Gotchas

The editor autosave path uses a whole-scene save with conflict protection, while Poly writes through incremental model commands. If two actors change the same model at once, expect a conflict instead of a silent overwrite.
