How Adhoc separates your work, shared spaces and the identity behind them.

What it is

An entity is the thing that owns workspace data. Your personal user entity represents you. A shared entity represents a space you work in with other people, such as a household, team or business. The product often says Space because that is the user-facing idea; the code and low-level settings often say entity.

Where to find it

Open Settings, then use Your Account for your own user entity and Entities for shared entities you belong to. The active entity also affects app data, health checks and business or merchant setup.

How to use it

Switch entities when you want to work in a different space. Apps, resources and settings that belong to one entity stay there unless you explicitly share, publish or copy them. Owners manage entity profile and membership. Members can work inside the entity according to their role, but role does not automatically mean they can distribute someone else's resource.

Use cases

Keeping personal notes separate from a business workspace. Giving a collaborator access to a shared project without giving them your whole account. Checking Entity health when a shared space seems to have broken links or missing resources.

Gotchas

Always check the active entity before changing settings, building apps or sharing something. An owner of an entity can share resources owned by that entity, but a plain member cannot use membership alone to publish or privately share someone else's resource.
