App Studio

App Studio

Configure an app shell — its tabs and top-level navigation.

What it is

App Studio configures an app shell: the thing that appears as an app in your drawer, with tabs, top-level navigation and launch behaviour. It edits the shell, not every row of data inside the app.

Where to find it

Open the App Drawer and look under Studios. The resting drawer shows only the studios you have pinned, so if you do not see App Studio there, type its name into the drawer search — every available studio is reachable that way.

How to use it

Open an app in App Studio to add, rename or reorder its tabs and set what the app opens on. Use Tab Studio for one tab, Section Studio for the sections inside it, and Block Studio for the individual cards and rows.

Use cases

Turning a rough app Poly built into one you actually want to use. Renaming and reorganising an app you installed from the Index. Keeping the app shell stable while changing the screens underneath it.

Gotchas

Changing an app shell changes the route people use to open that app. If a tab disappears from navigation, the data behind it may still exist; check Tab Studio or Resource Studio before assuming content was deleted.
