Capture
Capture
Get photos, video, audio, files and folders into Adhoc fast.
What it is
Capture is the pair of buttons on the App Drawer handle — camera and upload — plus everything that happens after you use them. It is deliberately the shortest path in the product: the point is to get the thing in first and decide where it belongs afterwards.
Where to find it
Both buttons live on the App Drawer handle at the bottom of the screen. You do not need to open an app first, and you do not need to be anywhere in particular.
How to use it
The camera button opens a capture ring with five modes: Photo, Video, Audio, 3D Scan and 3D Room. The upload button opens the “Add to Adhoc” sheet with three working routes — Files & photos (pick from this device), Folder (import a whole folder of files as resources, keeping its structure), and Google Drive (import Docs, Sheets and Slides). Whatever you capture becomes a real asset in your workspace with its type, size and preview already filled in, and is filed into your Library automatically.
Use cases
Photograph a receipt now, file it later. Record a voice note in the middle of something else. Drop a folder of reference material in and let it become browsable resources. Scan an object and open it in a viewer.
Gotchas
The “From a URL” row in the upload sheet is labelled coming soon and does nothing yet — that is accurate, not a bug. Large captures upload in the background, so the asset can appear before its file has finished arriving. Photos and video also land in Gallery, which is the nicer place to look at them.
