Consent tiers

The four-step data-contribution ladder, and who is allowed to move you along it.

What it is

Data contribution is a separate question from privacy of your workspace. Your apps and content are yours and are not mixed with anyone else's. The contribution setting governs one thing only: whether pseudonymized information about how you use Adhoc may be used to improve the platform.

There are four steps, and they are additive.

Tier 0 contributes nothing.

Tier 1 adds pseudonymized structure — the shapes of things, such as resource types and field schemas — without the values in those fields.

Tier 2 adds pseudonymized usage patterns and AI reliability information, without prompt or response text.

Tier 3 adds pseudonymized content, including conversation content, with personal identifiers stripped.

Settings, under Privacy & Data. You are also asked once when you accept the Terms of Service.

How to use it

Pick the tier you are comfortable with and change it whenever you like. Moving down takes effect for future contribution; if you want prior contributions erased, request erasure from the same panel.

The rules we hold ourselves to

Every tier is opt-in, on every plan. There is no free-tier minimum. A new workspace starts at Tier 0 and stays there until you move it.

Changing your subscription never changes your tier. Downgrading to free does not raise your contribution.

Only you can change it. Poly is refused the command outright and deeds cannot reach it either — this is enforced in the platform, not requested in a prompt.

Use cases

Staying at Tier 0 and using the product fully. Opting in to a higher tier because you want the platform to get better at what you do.

Gotchas

We say pseudonymized, and the word is chosen carefully. The pipeline produces a stable per-workspace identifier, which means contributions from one workspace can be linked to each other. That is pseudonymization: it is not the same as data that could never be linked back to a person, and pseudonymized data is still personal data. We would rather use the accurate word than the reassuring one.

One place the tier does act as a gate: publishing to the public catalogue requires at least Tier 2. That is a publication floor, not a subscription rule, and it does not apply to private shares.
