What happens when you first sign in, and what to do in your first ten minutes.

What it is

Everything between creating an account and having a workspace that is useful to you. Adhoc deliberately keeps the first-run path concrete: accept the terms, choose your data-contribution setting, then land on Start Here with four useful doors instead of a long fake tour.

Where to find it

This happens automatically the first time you sign in. Afterwards, everything described here is reachable from Settings and from Chat.

How to use it

First, you accept the Terms of Service. This is a real gate — you cannot use the app without it, and it re-appears whenever the terms change materially.

Second, you choose your data-contribution setting. Every new workspace starts at Tier 0, which contributes nothing. That is a real default, not a nudge: there is no minimum tier on any plan, free or paid, and nothing raises it later on its own. You can change it any time in Settings, and only you can change it — see Consent tiers.

Third, your workspace is provisioned. You get the built-in screens — Dashboard, Chat, Agenda, Deeds, Exchange, Billing, Settings, Viewer and, when enabled for your entity, Explore — plus your Library, Activity Log, Index, Gallery and Start Here.

Fourth, Start Here opens for the entity. Its four cards are the practical first moves: Chat with Poly, Browse the Index, Your Library and Gallery. Chat is where you describe what would make the workspace useful. Index is where you install existing public content, including the LifeOS apps. Library and Gallery show what is already in the workspace.

Gotchas

Start Here is remembered per entity in local browser storage, so it is normal for it not to reopen after the first successful boot. Explore is a system app, not the onboarding surface; it appears in the launcher only when the Explore gate is enabled. The coming onboarding redesign may change the conversation around this flow, but the honest model remains the same: you choose consent, get a workspace, and pick a first useful action.
